O’ Father, where art thou

My wife and I just facilitated a half-day, In-person Family Constellations workshop with many first time participatants. I was blown away yet again by the abundant grace of the In-forming field, the mophongenetic field, and the ability of the participants to attune to it like well calibrated tuning forks.

Somehow the theme of the day seemed to be the “FATHER”, to be precise, the biological father. We witnessed the profound impact of the absence/exclusion of the father. Whether the father was absent due to drowning his own pain in alcohol, longing for his father, who was absent, longing for his father who never returned from the war, or was excluded due to social norms, religion, or prejudices to take his place besides the love of his life, the impact was felt most, by the partner (in some cases the spouse, in some cases the lover), and the children.

We restored orders, acknowledged what is, by seeing past our and the sytemic judgements and finally created a place for the father to come in. and what a beautiful sight that was. Many a clients “met” their father for the first time through the constellation, and it was a sight to behold. Everyone in the system just felt peaceful, that order had finally been restored, that truth had finally been acknowledged. Love flowed yet again, softness returned, existential questions such as who am I, am I loved?, am I wanted? disappeared out of the window!

The Love that was always there, but had gone underground, the dam that had somehow surfaced by traumatic events, stagnating the flow of the river of life burst and tears started gushing from all the representatives, especially the children, the father and the mother! And now, these children who now have their own spouses and children, could turn to them in a different way!
